American psychedelic rock band from Boston, Massachusetts, active between 1967 and 1969. They released three studio albums, with a sound characterized by experimental, complex, multi-part suites, anti-war themes and 'sonic artifacts' like fuzz, echo, and theremin. Their 1968 eponymously titled debut album is often cited as a 60's psychedelic classic and includes the track 'Ballad of the Hip Death Goddess.'
