New York Americans T-Shirt

Big Bill Dwyer, was a Prohibition gangster and bootlegger in New York during the 1920s. In 1925, Dwyer paid $75,000 for a National Hockey League expansion franchise to play in Madison Square Garden, which he named the New York Americans. The team reached the semi-finals of the Stanley Cup twice, before suspending operations in 1942 due to World War 2 and long-standing financial difficulties.
