New York Golden Blades T-Shirt

Short-lived professional ice hockey team in the World Hockey Association (WHA) during the 1973–74 season. They are remembered as one of the most financially troubled and briefest-running franchises in professional sports history, lasting only 24 games! They signed the league’s leading scorer, Andre Lacroix, however attendances plummeted and they sometimes played in front of just 500 people. The owners abandoned the team, leaving the WHA to take control after just 24 games and relocate the team to New Jersey, where they became the Jersey Knights. Following the conclusion of the 1973–74 season, the franchise was sold again, this time heading out west to become the San Diego Mariners.
