Coffee shop located in Seattle's University District, named after the 1964 novel by Hubert Selby Jr. Established in 1967 by Irv Cisski, it became well-known as a popular bohemian, counterculture hang-out. Regularly frequented by chess masters, musicians, hippies, artists and beatniks, it closed it's doors for the last time in 2000.
