Hotel Amazonas T-Shirt

First modern hotel built in Manaus shortly after the Brazilian rubber boom. The building, named Edificio Ajuricaba, was opened on 7th April 1951, with the hotel consisting of 49 rooms spread over four floors. In the 1970's the hotel expanded and under new ownership, the successful 'Mandy's Bar' operated on the ground floor. During the 1990's the property began to face financial difficulties and was auctioned off in 1996 to be converted into a residential and commercial condominium.
