Hands Across America T-Shirt
On Sunday, 25th May, 1986, millions of people joined hands to form a human chain across the USA, aiming to raise $50β$100 million for charity, to combat hunger and homelessness. The line began at Battery Park in New York City and ended at the Queen Mary pier in Long Beach, California. In remote areas like the Southwestern deserts, gaps in the chain were filled using ribbons, ropes, or banners. Due to high administrative and production costs, only about $15 million was ultimately distributed to charities. The 80's were a wild time.Β
