California Republic T-Shirt

The most populous U.S. state with around 40 million residents, and the third-largest by land area. The term 'California Republic', as featured on the state flag, commemorates the 1846 'Bear Flag Revolt,' where settlers in Sonoma rebelled against Mexican rule and briefly declared California an independent nation. Although this 'republic' lasted only 25 days before U.S. forces took control, the original, hastily designed flag became a symbol of California, and was officially adopted in 1911.
