British Leyland T-Shirt

British motor company formed in 1968 by the merger of several major car manufacturers, including BMC and Leyland Motor Corp, with the aim of saving the UK car industry. It became infamous for industrial strife and financial failure, and in 1975, due to impending bankruptcy, the government intervened, nationalizing the company as part of a bailout. It included famous brands like Mini, Jaguar, Rover, Land Rover, and Triumph before being broken up and privatised in the 1980's.
