Opened in 1972, the Babieca was a bar, nightclub and live music venue in Barcelona. The venue gained in popularity during the final years of the Franco regime, as Spain shifted from a dictatorship to democracy. South American performers including Los Benítez Barrios and Perucho, would play sets to audiences that included Spanish celebrities of the day.
