Aso Kanko Hotel T-Shirt

Famous abandoned luxury hotel and urban exploration (urbex) landmark, opened in 1939 and located at the foot of Mt. Aso in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. Once one of Japan's most prestigious resorts, it was known for hosting Emperor Hirohito, and featured modern, luxury western-style amenities, such as flushing toilets, revolving doors, and a large dining room. The main building was destroyed by a huge fire in 1964, and rebuilt the following year, but closed permanently in 2000. Following its abandonment, the site gained fame as a location for the 2005 Japanese horror film Reincarnation (Rinne).
